Join the Family at Thomson Family Farm

Who are we?

Thomson Family Farm is a local, veteran owned, regenerative farm located in Harpersfield, Ny. We practice regenerative agriculture, which is a conservation and rehabilitation approach to food and farming. All our animals are raised on pastures where they can live life as they were intended to. We rotate the animals on a regular basis to help keep them and the land healthy. We do not use hormones, antibiotics, or chemicals on our produce or in our animals which results in more natural, better tasting, and more nutritious products.

How our program works:

When you purchase a seasonal share in our farm and we pick the freshest, highest quality, non-certified organic produce, free range chicken or duck eggs, and pasture raised chicken, USDA pasture raised Berkshire pork, and USDA beef for you and your family on a weekly basis. The selection of vegetables can vary based on what is available. If there is a food allergy, we can accommodate to not giving you that particular item (ex: nightshades), however, as grandma used to say “ you get what you get and you don’t throw a fit”.

Different than last year, our program will be available for pick up only at our farm store on Sundays.  Our “Join the Family” program will run June through September. Please submit your application quickly to ensure you are a part of this exciting program. Spots are reserved on a first come first serve basis.

How much does it cost?

*This is a commitment to the entire program (June through September around 15 weeks). As a farming family we need to rely on this income to keep the farm moving forward. If something major comes up, please contact us and we can work with you!

· Full Share Pick up at Farm Store- $ 40 per week ($600)

· Half Share Pick up at Farm Store- $25 per week ($375)

While we prefer the share being paid in full, if you would like to pay weekly please contact us. Each full share will contain no less than $40 of product per week. Each half share will contain no less than $25 of product per week.

What are the benefits?

By joining the family, you will receive a share of our quality products. Our non-certified organic produce is picked fresh the day you receive your share, our free-range chicken or duck eggs, and our pasture raised meats. Everything is fresh, never sprayed pesticides, and full of flavor and nutrition. You also get insider information and discounted tickets for events we have on the farm. We really want each family signed up with us to feel like they are part of the family and are welcome to hiking, fishing, and enjoying the property just as much as we do!

What are the risks?

We are committed to providing our community with the highest quality products, but there are always risks in agriculture. These risks can include mother nature, disease, and pests. Your share entitles you to a share of the produce we harvest.

Here is a list of some of the products we plan on offering from our farm this year:

Vegetables: lettuce (varieties), tomatoes (varieties), broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, cucumbers (regular and pickling), green beans, eggplant, celery, onions (varieties), potatoes (varieties), peas, peppers (sweet, mild, and hot varieties), carrots, radishes, sweet corn, summer squash, zucchini, butternut squash, scallop squash, onions, and garlic.

Fruits: blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, watermelon, cantaloupe, and strawberries

Herbs: basil, dill, mint, oregano, rosemary, sage, thyme, cilantro, lavender, lemon balm, chamomile, and calendula
